Gowda’s History

Gowda’s people were forced to migrate towards southern India again after the invasion of Gowda by the Harshavardhana in northern India. The current Malda district of West Bengal, Gateway of North Bengal, is once the capital of Gaur-Bangla. The city of Gurupur is known as the Gowda City. Gowda’s people belonged to the city of Gaur in the 5th century BC. The ruling dynasty of West Bengal was ruled by Laxman Sen Goud, who was known as Ashmanabati. BC The Sen kings ruled Bengal until the conquest of Bechtir Khalji Bengal in 1204. With the Khalji invasion, migrating across southern Orissa towards Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Rukunuddin Barbak Shah ruled the kingdom of Gadda in West Bengal.

The Gowda region in Bengal was once the constitution of India . After Indian independence in 1947, West Bengal was merged with another state to form a modern state. Goud or Gowda people from West Bengal migrated from Gowda to southern India due to the Gupta, Pala, Sena, Turks and Mughal attacks. Goud people thrown into rivers across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, along the southern part of West Bengal, across Orissa .Shashanka (630 – 637AD), Bengal’s first Gowda king, extends its territory to the Chilka lake in Orissa, defeating Guptas till his death and founded his capital at Karnasivaram.
